COBB COUNTY WATER

Cobb County’s water municipality created a walk-through garden that displayed host plants to attract wildlife and promote water conservation principles. In creating a brochure for them, it was essential to underscore positive feelings of a healthy ecology for all ages. A loose hand drawn style was used to render wildlife that visitors might experience.

Illustrating the butterflies gave this project a completely different “feel” than a photograph. A photograph says “this is a butterfly’” whereas an illustration says “this is a bigger concept about conservation and wildlife flourishing.” The artistic change in tone is not lost on readers…
